Having produced and played guitar on "Les Ex et Mon Petit Vieux" on Camille's debut album, produced and performed with the group Muzak and played guitar for Beth Hirsh (Air), Alex Shelter finally releases his debut solo album "Free From The Past".
This album is the fruit of many years of collaboration with artists including Camille, Beth Hirsch, Subsonic, Muzak, combined with long contemplative journeys to Latin America and California. It fully encompasses the encounters and wanderings necessary for an artist to find and elevate his own voice.
Chris Hierro of Back to Mono Records produced the album in his all-vintage studio, while Marie-Jeanne Séréro (Justice, Noir Désir, Gabriel Yared, Vangelis) wrote and conducted the string arrangements on three songs in the spirit of John Barry and Torrie Zito (Sinatra, Lennon).
Alex Shelter performs on stage either as a solo guitar/vocals act or with a rhythm section as heard on the album.
